Are Your Kids Ready for College?

[ 0 ] July 5, 2012 |

Are they prepared for what they’ll hear during their freshman orientation?  Take this video below as an example:

Oh this is at Gustavus Adolphus College in St. Peter, MN at their freshman orientation almost two years ago.  Gustavus Adolphus is (from their website):

….a church-related, residential liberal arts college firmly rooted in its Swedish and Lutheran heritage. The College aspires to be a community of persons from diverse backgrounds who respect and affirm the dignity of all people. It is a community where a mature understanding of the Christian faith and lives of service are nurtured and students are encouraged to work toward a just and peaceful world.

If this is helping nurture a “mature understanding of the Christian faith.”  I’d hate to see what they’d do to otherwise.  Anyway, prepare your kids and don’t assume that because a college calls itself a church-related program that they are teaching the same values you teach at home.
