A new study by LiveScience shows that TV Ads may make unhappy tweens materialistic.
Duh. I mean really? How much did they spend on that study? If kids were content they likely wouldn’t gravitate toward material things. So apparently that is the silver lining in the study, marketers aren’t as influential as once thought.
Of course this is a Dutch study so we don’t know how American tweens will measure up.
So the key takeaway for me is this – teach our kids that contentment doesn’t come from things and cut the TV time down.
