My daughter took a picture of this gentleman on a street corner on the east side of Des Moines. He gets around on that part of town, and most people ignore him. I’m curious if he’s ever seen fruit.
When I was a non-believer my encounters with them were never good and pushed me away rather than toward the cross. Mainly because I never heard the message of the cross – only condemnation, by those who did not know me. (How do you tell someone you never met or talked to is going to hell?) I’ve encountered some street preachers who automatically think I’m not a Christian, apparently Christians can not walk down that particular sidewalk. Thankfully now I know “there is no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus.”
Can this be effective? I’m sure, the word of God will never return void, but the messenger needs to be sure he doesn’t get in the way of the message.
