Starbucks announced their holiday cups for 2015 and *gasp* they don’t have ornaments or a Christmas tree or anything else on them. They are just red.
They must hate Christmas!!!!!!
Really? Is this what we need to be up in arms over? I actually think the plain red cup looks pretty sharp, and what they had on their cups had nothing to do with the real meaning of Christmas anyway so why are we getting upset?
I’m far more concerned about where Starbucks’ money goes and how they treat investors who have a differing opinion on say gay marriage than I am their holiday cups. It is their investment in causes that I believe are contrary to what I believe that has led me to mostly boycott them. It was a personal decision I have made a few years ago. I say mostly because in moments of weakness I will occasionally get Starbucks if that is my only alternative. I also won’t refuse Starbucks if it is served to me because that’s just awkward. I also want to emphasize this is a personal decision, every Christian is free to do what their conscience dictates. I decided there were plenty of other coffee options I could spend my money on.
So I just don’t go out of my way to go there. I don’t schedule meetings there, and I don’t buy their coffee beans (all three things that I used to do).
As far as their holiday cup, they can make bright pink and put unicorns on it for all I care.
