I don’t know how old this is, but wow!
Iowa’s wildlife is mostly boring in that unlike other parts of the country we really don’t have anything that can eat us. Occasionally we’ll get a Mountain Lion and very rarely we’ll have a Black Bear wander out of Minnesota like the one discovered today. The picture of the our intruder from Minnesota was taken by Terry Hovden and was located near Ridgeway in northeast Iowa.
I’ve said before that to get me to run I need a bear chasing me. Perhaps we can get this guy to come a little further southwest.
Fox News had an article on a new resort being built in Shanghai, China. A “groundscaper” that is being built into an old quarry.
Here’s an artist’s depiction of the new resort.
The cliffs will be used for extreme sports and have an underwater restaurant. It’ll be complete in 2014 or early 2015 and run at a rate of $320 per night.
Just a *tad* pricy, but this is an interesting way to recycle an old quarry.
