The Iowa State Fair Straw Poll is a pretty good indicator for statewide races
The Iowa Secretary of State's Iowa State Fair Straw Poll accurately predicted the winner of the statewide races it polled in 2016 and 2018.
This morning I tweeted an update regarding the Iowa Secretary of State's Iowa State Fair Straw Poll during the Iowa State Fair. Fairgoers can drop by Secretary Pate's booth in the Varied Industries Building and vote.
As of yesterday, U.S. Senator Chuck Grassley, R-Iowa, had a commanding lead over his Democratic challenger Mike Franken, and Gov. Kim Reynolds leads her Democratic challenger, Deidre DeJear.
At the time I started writing this (4:15 pm), here are the current results:
